As a senior product designer at Monnet, our mission is to create a crypto wallet solution tailored to the needs and aspirations of the African population. Defining The Problem
The African population, particularly in Nigeria and Kenya, lacks a user-friendly and secure platform for managing both cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies seamlessly. Existing solutions are often complex, unintuitive, and lack essential features, hindering users from confidently buying, selling, and protecting their digital assets in real-time.
Opportunity
The opportunity lies in addressing the pressing need for a fast, secure, and user-centric multi-currency wallet tailored to the African market. By creating Monnet, we aim to empower users in Nigeria and Kenya to effortlessly manage their diverse financial portfolio, bridging the gap between traditional fiat currencies and the emerging world of cryptocurrencies.
Hypothesis
We believe that by providing the African population in Nigeria and Kenya with Monnet, a fast, secure, and intuitive multi-currency wallet, we can drive increased adoption of cryptocurrency usage. Through its user-friendly interface and real-time functionality, Monnet will empower users to confidently manage their digital assets and traditional currencies in one unified platform.

In the research phase, I conducted qualitative interviews and quantitative research through surveys with thousands of participants from Nigeria and Kenya in other to gather valuable insights from users' experiences with cryptocurrency platforms

We’re designing for unbanked or underbanked and tech-savvy individuals in the African markets of Nigeria and Kenya, encompassing a broad age range, from young adults to middle-aged professionals, who seek a simplified, secure, and efficient way to manage their cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies seamlessly in their local context.

The core task flow starts with a streamlined onboarding process that guides users through account creation and security setup. Upon entering the app, users land on the home screen, which prominently features options to buy, sell, view their wallet balance, engage in peer-to-peer transactions, and initiate withdrawals. This intuitive layout ensures quick access to essential functions, enhancing the overall user experience.
